INTERIOR
This stunning apartment is a feature of a traditional triangular shaped building perched on the edge of the River Gilão. Access to the apartment is by stairs, with a street entrance and a private apartment entrance on the second floor. The internal décor has been recently refined combining a wonderful mix of old and new characteristics, where modern tiles rest against traditional combined with polished wooden floors. From the entrance hall, enter the heart of the apartment with rooms radiating from every angle. A dining table features as the focal point, where the hallway melts into the lounge with its elegant furnishings and riverside window views with sunbeams bouncing from the river and illuminating the room. 3 bedrooms are neatly positioned at each point of the triangular building design, adorned with traditional furniture and feature fitted wardrobes, sharing a large walk-in, glass paneled shower room, with large mirror and attractive features. At the rear of the apartment, the kitchen once more blends the old and new, as modern appliances are contrasted by beautiful Portuguese tiles.
OUTDOOR SPACE
Slip out of the kitchen into a shaded patio area with bistro table and chairs, a perfect breakfast point with respite from the sun. And meanwhile, sunworshippers can take the stairs to enjoy the wonderful sunny roof terrace and relax on the sunbeds, or choose to settle into one of the comfy sofas to read a book or enjoy a tipple or two! There is no elevator in this building. Car parking is on-street. Some streets are with pay meters, but a there are 2 free carparks located close to the river and within a 2 minute walk of the apartment.
Additional Notes:
1) Bathrooms - The principal shower room is situated inside the main accommodation. There are 2 further shower rooms located in covered rooms, with access outside of the apartment, via the terraces.
2) Roof Terrace - this is not an ideal apartment for young children in respect of the roof terrace. All age groups are permitted, but with caution and care.

This 3 bed 2 bath apartment is in a gated community in the centre of Tavira - close to everything . Allocated underground parking ( that is actually easy to get in and out of) which keeps the car nice and cool and no worries about finding parking onsee more

The apartment is light and airy and has a lovely feel to it and has everything you might need. Also it is at the end of a building so no one walks past your door and outside space. Would thoroughly recommend. Another perfect stay with Smartavillas - immaculately clean apartment, excellent communication and such helpful and friendly staff. Would never use anyone else.

Everyone was very helpful, the cleaners were terrific! 😁

Great service from the Smartvillas team, clear communication before our trip and also checking after our arrival. Thank you. Although somewhat remotely located, the villa is in a tranquil area and is very well finished, with excellent clean pool, well equipped kitchen (and outside dining area) & comfortable beds. The layout may not suit families with small children, but it worked well for us. We did visit a number of local beaches and towns, but it was also nice just to enjoy the relax on the terrace and enjoy the pool. The welcome gifts, although smaller than some houses we have rented, were appreciated. I would certainly recommend the house to anyone thinking of a break in this part of the Algarve.

Secluded rural location in a small hamlet, with a small holding behind the villa & a local weight training club in close proximity. Lovely views, regular sightings of dragonflies & swifts. Amble fruit trees of orange, lime, apple & pomegranate. A fewsee more
Secluded rural location in a small hamlet, with a small holding behind the villa & a local weight training club in close proximity. Lovely views, regular sightings of dragonflies & swifts. Amble fruit trees of orange, lime, apple & pomegranate. A few locals around, yet very limited WiFi - slight mobile signal in corner of garden. Mosquito haven - ensure to pack all mossy protectors! One of the bedrooms is outside separated from the flow of the villa, which with children could be a concern. Car certainly needed - simplyrent.pt - nearest small convenient supermarket in Santa Catharina. Lidl & Aldi in Tavira. Easy parking in Tavira, 20mins drive & meter parking, free after 7pm. Catch ferry (every 30 mins) to Tavira Island, lovely sand and Caribbean vibe but choppy Atlantic ocean. 1hr drive to Bengali caves - fun kayaking.
Villa is well equipped. Smartavillas highly efficient and helpful throughout stay following two powercuts. Pool cleaned during stay but no notice on days due so taken by surprise - It is not heated but refreshing. Washing machine & tumble dryer in villa. Terrace great for star gazing, bath with hot water on terrace (not a hottub). Recommend Maria's Tuk Tuk in Tavira & visit Vidal Brito on road to villa, which shows how the villa's terracotta floor tiles are handmade. |

Four of us spent 11 days at Casa Kristina and loved it.
The layout of the house is ideal for 2 couples or families with older children. Everything is furnished with a lot of charm, the kitchen is well equipped.

The villa was perfect. The villa was full of great amenities to make the stay go smoothly, and I loved the character of the villa. When we wanted to go out to the beach or restaurant, we didn’t have to drive very far. Would definitely recommend.
