LOCAL TRANSPORT

If you prefer not to hire a car, there are many travel options available.

 

Trains:

A train service operates along the entire Algarve coast from Lagos to Vila Real St Antonio. This is a cheap way to travel, but does have a number of stops along the way.

There is a fast train operating from between Lisbon and Faro.

 

Buses:

In the Eastern Algarve there is a reliable bus service which stops at all the major towns and runs from Vila Real St Antonio to Faro.

 

Ferry:

There is a ferry service running from Vila Real St Antonio to Ayamonte in Spain.
