QUINTA DA RIA

Overview

Alongside its sister course of Cima, Quinta da Risa is situated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and is considered to be the most beautiful course of the Eastern Algarve Region. Olive, Almond and Carob trees have been planted to not only enhance the spectacular terrain, but to provide natural hazards. The course comprises two loops of 9 holes each with two par 5, five Par 4 and two Par 3 holes. Six lakes are strategically positioned along the course and the green of hole 17 features an island where a bird sanctaury may be found. The greens, smoothly undulating, are well protected by bunkers and are always testing.

Fabulous scenery and well maintained course. A really enjoyable experience on flattish terrain. Excellent for low handicapperd, challenging but not impossible for beginners. Strongly recommended.

How to Get There...

On the EN125 between Tavira and Monte Gordo. Quinta da ia is signposted from the road. Follow the sandy track for around 800m and the entrance is on the right.
