MONTE REI

Overview

Montei Rei, the first of two Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses. `Monte Rei North` has been open since June 2007. The club is set in the foothills of the Eastern Algarve with sweeping views of the Serra do Caldeirao mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South. The layout wanders through gentle hills and valleys and has a wonderful mix of sculptured bunkers and lakes. The fairways and greens are bordered by an abundance of plants, grasses and trees enhancing the already spectacular landscape. Each hole has its own unique characteristics and offers players a truly memorable experience.

The quality of the course and the service is why Monte Rei is quickly becoming known as the Eastern Algarve's 'Jewel in the Crown'.  The Green Fee includes:

12 minute tee time intervals ensure that the game is leisurely and unhurried and with each hole being totally independent of each other, you really feel like you are playing on your own! Whilst this may sound like a daunting challenge, golfers of varying ability should not be dissuaded as there are 4 different starting points to account for varying handicaps. One word of warning however, the greens are very quick with 11.5+ on the stimple. Costly, but wirth every penny and the added extras do give value for money.

How to Get There...

From the A22 take junction 16 for Tavira. At the next roundabout take the exit towards Villa Real St Antonio. After 11kms follow the large Monte Rei signs painted in blue on the side of a house which will take you through the village of Santa Rita and directly to the course.
