TOWN

Monte Gordo is considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan of the Eastern Algarve resorts. During the day, there is a laid back, relaxed atmosphere where visitors can sit and enjoy a beer at one of the seafront bars or take a stroll and do some leisurely shopping. In the evening, visitors can choose from a wide selection of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes including typical Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisine. In high season, the beach front promenade is perfect for a stroll to browse the assorted market stalls selling local crafts and items. Or the famous casino offers an evening of entertainment with spectacular floor shows as well as gambling and dining. Overall, the resort is generally very family oriented and is more commercialised than the other towns and resorts in the Eastern Algarve, with more modern amenities on offer.

BEACH

Monte Gordo beach was once a main fishing port where local fishermen hauled theirs boats up onto the strand. However, over time, this has changed and Monte Gordo is now firmly a beach resort, although you will still see some fishing boats still on daily duty! Lovely golden sands with sunbeds for hire and a nice selection of beach restaurants to choose from.
